“It is an honor and a great responsibility to work with a client in what can be the most difficult time in their life. In that challenging time, I am resolute in maintaining integrity and civility, while acting as a strong legal advocate.”

Divorce is destabilizing before it is damaging. When a drastic change in family dynamics is inevitable, the trauma to all involved can be mitigated with a comprehensive and thoughtful plan created in the framework of family law.

I work with families to help them understand their own dynamics in the context of family separation, focus on listening to the needs of all involved, and reduce the overall level of conflict in what is already a stressful transition. Rather than putting my client into my system or immediately falling back to the rules of litigation, we work to understand what sound resolution looks like for my client and their family and create a custom roadmap. A major part of my job is to educate clients about the complexities of the process and coach them through making their own decisions.

M Y P R A C T I C E
With over 25 years of experience as a family law attorney and litigator, Collaborative Law practitioner, and mediator, I have extensive practice in family legal matters both in and out of court. My experience ranges from working with children as a Title 26 Guardian ad Litem to dealing with the most contentious divorce situations involving the tracing of separate assets, closely held corporations, real estate concerns, stock options, and pension/retirement issues. Throughout the complexities and variables of my cases, the constant is that my clients work directly with me and have personal access to the breadth of my experience.

M Y A P P R O A C H
I put the interests of my clients and their families first. Before talking numbers and legal statutes, I will ask my clients about their long-term goals, how they want their relationships to look and function, or even how they would like their children to tell the story of their divorce. I ask myself what I can do to help my client bring their needs within a framework of their values. After establishing these goals together, I work with my clients to develop a practical and personalized legal strategy that compliments and bolsters an interest-based approach.
